11. DTV Visa
– Thailand has recently introduced a new visa aimed at digital nomads and remote workers called the “Destination Thailand Visa” (DTV). This visa is valid for five years and allows holders to stay in Thailand for up to 180 days per year. The days do not need to be consecutive, providing flexibility for multiple entries and exits within the year.
Applicants must be at least 20 years old and either self-employed or working for a company outside of Thailand. A significant requirement is having financial savings of at least 500,000 Thai baht (approximately $13,600 USD) in a bank account. The visa also requires an application fee of 10,000 Thai baht (around $270 USD). The DTV is particularly appealing for those looking to avoid the higher financial thresholds of other long-term visas (Thailand Life) (ExpatDen) (Time Out Worldwide).
